I know that by doing this straight off the bat I am risking getting abused or worse fully banned but I feel the need to say this somewhere.
This site is the first site in a long time which is great, its clean, amusing and most people are nice. Very odd I'm sure you will agree. So in effect I like it.
But I have come across a problem... I understand that to make this site what it is there are rules in place, and I agree to abide by any rules set. This is only expected and right to protect both users and hosts. But when these rules are unclear and you are new it becomes an issue. I am talking about the use of bad language. The rules only state that offensive language is not permitted. This in itself is difficult to navigate as everyone's definition of offensive is different. Forgive me if I hit on any of them in here but I'm trying to make what I feel is a valid point...
To me the term arse is not offensive and the two admins in the newbie room agreed, but, another user had been warned against that same word previously by what I now assume to be a different administrator.
A user in the room I was in was not allowed to use **** as it is considered offensive... I would not consider either **** or ****e to be so...
An admin said to one reply of mine 'Why do you feel the need to swear', they wouldn't listen to my point which was exactly that, I didn't think it was a swear.
When I tried to actually talk to the admins about this there wasn't much of a response barring one who out and out said... 'i dont care about other ppl, i find it offensive thats all u need to worry about' Hmmmm, so does that mean that every admin also has a different idea on what offensive actually is?!?
One admin I ran into was quite rude, even when I tried to make it clear I was not taking the proverbial.
All I'm trying to say is... if you are going to enforce a rule, which is perfectly acceptable and within your right to do, then unify it![/QUOTE]
