Nothing to be honest, I wouldn't ever just not show up. If something very dramatic happened and I genuinely couldn't go, then I would make sure that I rearranged it as early as possible. I would never just not turn up, unless it was physically impossible. I can't think of anything worse than just leaving a girl sat there on her own.....

A gentleman would never just not turn up unless he was dead and to my way of thinking, that's acceptable.
There are occasions when it is simply impossible to meet as planned but a phone call to explain or even getting somebody else to meet in your place to explain why you can't be there would be the correct thing to do. All the above applies except in one particular set of cir***stances as follows. The guy and gal arrange a date for 7pm on the Cinema steps. (Dave and Angela) He turns up on time but she doesn't. He goes home dejected and cries himself to sleep. Next day at work his friend mentions that he had a fantastic night out last night with Angela. The description matches the Angela that stood him up. A week later he sees Angela again and she apologises for not turning up last week with some excuse about a friend being ill, blah, blah, blah. She arranges a new date for tomorrow night. In that set of cir***stances it is perfectly OK to go and watch as she stands there looking all lost and forlorn. In fact, it is mandatory, lol Last edited by 5tevie; 14-12-10 at 01:13 AM. |

Butterflyrachel asked .... What would make you stand a female up on a date?
I would stand anybody up who had fallen over. I would probably prop them against something hoping that it would stop them from falling over again. I mean, it's only common courtesy, isn't it? You can't just leave them lying in the gutter. |
