Hey guys, i created a post asking girls what they think on pet names, so now im asking you!
why do u use them....
and do u like them being used on u....

hi, what do you mean like "babe" and stuff? every guy calls there girlfriend babe dont they, are you talking about specific pet names(the sort that you see in valentines day cards lol)? i didnt really think guys do that, i never have and have mostly noticed that being a trait you girls do for us guys!!

yeah i mean like babe and darling and chick more so its a indicator that u cant remeber our names.... well thats how it feels... waiting for some guys to stick up for themselves !!! soo well done you

I tend to use babe, gorgeous, ***y etc.... i`ve never really thought about why i use these terms rather than her name.... i guess it feels less formal, terms i would only use for a person close to me and the words gorgeous and ***y are mini compliments :-) mushy pet names can be more specific to that couple .i.e the name could have been born out a personal moment, private joke etc etc i think they are more special.... and are reserved for use between the couple only. Not sure if that actually makes sense but... lol

So you say less formal, which is an interesting point, do you think it could be cos the girl means nothing to in any context really, that its just not worth learning her name and its easy to use a generic term like ***y gorg etc etc ??

withinin what time period is it o.k to start calling a girl your seeing "babe"?, seems to cement the relationship or be a good indicator for being in a "proper" relationship with someone, i think it may even be a bigger indicator than the "i love you", lol yeah i deffo think that's when you truely know you're in a relationhip with someone when you start calling them babe
