can ya really fall in love with someone online ?

I started talking to a guy over 2 years ago in a chat room (not here!) and we clicked straight away - we decided to give things ago and i agree to ultimately know if you love someone you have to physically spend time together, he came over for christmas (he's from+lives in australia) and things are wonderful! We're getting married and things are ultimately serious so although you can't know for sure if the feelings are real, you can fall in love with someone in my opinion! For me, i go for personality and nothing else matters so it's how they talk to me that captures my attention...and well this guy did that! I would recommend avoiding relationships through chat rooms as it can be very complicated and messy. But, it can happen, and it can work!

thank you! you can fall in love with anyone anywhere, it just depends how you feel about a person - if you are going to emotionally disconnect yourself from the internet, then your just talking to a computer in which point - what is the point in even bothering with a chatroom? you have to see the members as humans, not computers that are responsive and if you believe you can't have an emotional connection via chatrooms, then you have no emotion, that's what love is - a strong emotional connection an that can happen anywhere - those of you who disagree are more likely to be surprised one day!

It annoys me when people say "its just the internet" ,...People seem to forget that we as humans use it...and that emotions run deeper.

i see where ur coming from but maybe those that agree are morely likely to be surprised one day when the guy/girl they end meet from the net is nothing like they made out to be.....
