Some honest suggestions, and a heads up.

All I will say in advice is, maybe tidy the front page a little, list the rooms on the left and such like, otherwise I like the site, though maybe now may be a good time to expand to a couple more rooms, I shall explain why in a little while. But I think maybe now would be a good a time as any to be ready for a surge in people who no longer have a net home

As some of you may or may not know, Lycos europe has gone bust and are going to close down in two months, now this is upsetting news to me, really upsetting as I am something of a loner and sue chat a lot, so, anyway, in a attempt to turn something bad for people who like me are not too well so rely on the net as a bit of a lifeline, I thought I would give you guys a bit of a heads up. Maybe theres something you guys can do to be ready for this, etc anyway sorry this is a bit of a ramble and a rant, I am a bit shocked so its kinda panic coming though and im sure some of you guys can understand how I feel anyways, that is all sorry this rant went on a bit.

Lycos have not changed many of their services for years so its no suprise they are struggling in this current climate, I didnt know about their chat rooms closing.

Chat rooms can be quite expensive to run, so might be not such a big suprise if they do close them down.

I will keep my eye on how their rooms go.

As for adding more rooms to our site, we will add more as and when we need them, the more people that come onto our chat rooms the more room we will open, simple really lol !

So please mention us to your lycos friends !

You need to get out more, dont rely on PC's too much its bad for your health, the more you interact with PC people the less likely you are to bond friendships with people face to face

I have been lurking about the hallways and rooms of a lycos, ship based chatroom, and the general consensus is that it will be folding around march 2009, unless a buyer can be found, which I hope will happen as I have found it to be a good site.
Should the dreaded event happen then the people are going to be looking for a well run friendly site to inhabit instead, having said that they are used to much more happening within the site than goes on in this one, so maybe admin could take some time out to go check it out for a few days see what goes on and maybe incorporate some of it on this one if they are able to. Hi there

Admin knows more about all those other sites than probably most of any of you realise, lycos chat is not good, never has been, never will be, the fact its closing should tell you that, the main reason it is closing is down to poor performance of their advertising over their network, which is a skill in itself.

The only reason people go there is because its popular, I cant think of any thing that site has to offer than we would need to add to world of chat, the site has been stagnant for years (which woc has never been), other than more people I fail to see what it has to offer, most people on there are used to it and go there our of habit.

I remember seeing the updated version which they were working on for about 4 years and it was exactly the same lol.

In fact I think they could learn a few things from us !

As admin we have spend many hours browsing other chat rooms, its our job and I seem to remember one of our admins getting banned from lycos chat for no reason what so ever by some navigator, plus lycos chat lets from the ages of 16 onwards in their chat, which is something we had on woc a long time ago, and it didnt work.

While I know it was never the best chat service, I used to love the *** chat and that got me hooked on chat sadly, a painful thing to allow to happen, I have elarned my lesson from the lycos incident and think I may stick here. and slowly weane myself off chat rooms, it was a very silly thing to get addicted like I did. A real warning don't get addicted to anything on the net ugh!

p.s sorry I came across so panicy in my above post, I have something of a addicting nature, so take these things a bit too hard, so sorry if I came across badly.
