Ridiculous Rules

I've recently been made aware of a few of the rules in WoC chat, I don't care what people say about me when I post this.
I don't see the sense in these six rules:

1) DO NOT Use capital letters in the room, this is equivalent to shouting (Why? Freedom of speech is the reason we use the internet)
2) DO NOT Use Underlines on the main chat room (Problem being what? there's no explanation)

3) DO NOT Room hop (People hope through rooms all the time and yet they don't get warned, but I use caps ONCE as a joke and I get complaints?)
4) DO NOT Change your name in the newbie’s room, as it can be confusing (tbh name changing has nothing to do with anyone else but the user changing their name)
5) DO CHAT that's what the room is here for (Contradiction as we're not allowed to use caps)

6) DO Come in have a laugh and have fun that's the whole reason for world of chat being here to have FUN (Again, fun is curbed when people are picked up on the smallest things
7) Admin and hosts are here to ensure there is no abuse in the room, they are not here for your entertainment or to be argued with, their decision is FINAL. (Admin and hosts are given the right to boot whoever they want, this is wrong. they should only boot people who break the more serious rules.)

quite frankly these 7 rules are insulting and shouldn't have been put in at all

Ppl have been chatting here for yrs quite happily and quite frankly u have been here for a nano second and made a snap judgement...

Rules are there for a reason if u wanna be a rebel then u wont last long I'm afraid .....so if as u say u find them "Insulting" theres plenty of other places u culd try... y dont u try www.wocchat.com its unmoderated, u may prefer it

lol seriously you`re complaining about not being able to use capital letters? really is it that important? like shaz says most of us regs have been here a while and never had a problem with it.

and room hoppers are bloody annoying- in and out the room every 5 seconds is irritating as hell!

admin and the hosts do a fantastic job keeping the rooms clean and safe for us all, and i`ve been a happy woc user for nearly 2 years now.

so quit ya jibber jabber and either accept the rules or go somewhere else.

not to break..
if u dont like them or agree to them , then leave,
cos the rules wont be changing for you or any1

To be honest, I think it's ridiculous to complain about rules you say are so pitiful that everyone should be able to do them.

It goes to show how noticable they are. I remember using capitals all the time, and getting muted about it. Luckily the mods warned me, and unmuted me, and after asking about the boundaries of capitals usage (is it single capital words that also get banned, capitals of a few words but not all, etc, petty stuff tbh), I realised I didn't *need* to use capitals. I tend to go *like this* if I wanna highlight anything. People are smart enough to read the whole stuff, or nothing at all.

Room hopping would creat spam enter/exit messages in the rooms. There was actually someone in a different chatroom who created a script or bot thing that done this with like 5 names in a whole catergory of chatrooms, so his name was spammed. However there was also the option to no show exit/enter messages, so it had limited use.

My advice?? work around it. There's other things that could bug you about a chatroom, but for now try to enjoy it while following the rules and see if you can bear it. If not, then it might not be the place for you. Don't sweat it, it's not the place for people wanting naughty cams too.

yes you may say no to these rules, but i think they are fair so grow up

a very simple answer to your issue with the rules that you don't agree with... as other have said and i agree with -

if you don't like the rules, then don't hang around.

the rules apply to *all* and you will abide or leave ir will be booted for violations.

i have been here awhile as a reg and have no issues following the rules, if you do - then you have the freedom to leave and not to use woc.

simple, period, paragraph. easy and plain.
