Working cams on woc with Linux
After a lot of messing around (and nagging by the regs :P) I found out how to make my cam work on woc with Linux. It's the same problem as some people have had on Windows with adobe flash not being able to find a cam. I know there are a few people using Linux on woc so I thought I should share the solution here.
What you need to do is to use some software to get around the problem. The one I use is called WebcamStudio. What it does is create a 'virtual' camera that flash is able to recognise and use. There are also some amusing effects you can play around with.
To get it up and running search on google for 'webcamstudio install guide' and you'll see the link you need in the first few results. Just follow the steps and you should be ok. If you want you can cheat and ignore the step about flash permissions by using Firefox instead of Chrome, because it doesn't freeze when asking permission to access your cam.
Once you have it installed start the software and turn your cam on by clicking the picture of a webcam underneath the word 'Devices'. If it worked and you can see your cam then it will work in woc. You just need to have your cam running in WebcamStudio each time before you broadcast.
