lol dunno what time zone you live in wushy, but 22nd April wasn't a month ago... lol
nevertheless, well done on your weight loss - keep up the good work!! I too am dieting... and I ain't saying what I currently weigh either, cos there ain't enough room for all the numbers lol... but I've been on the South Beach diet and an obsessive fitness regime for 11 weeks now and have lost a substantial amount, with a bleedin huge amount left to go unfortunately lol Happy dieting folks

The South Beach Diet is basically as follows:
Phase 1 - the Detox: this is tough... but very good results. It lasts two weeks (although you can do an extra week or two if you're keen lol) and consists of basically just meat/fish and vegetables. No fruit, no starches or carbs (potatoes, rice, pasta, bread etc), no alcohol and limited caffeine . It's main aim is to cure your body's addiction to the sugar highs from eating carbs and most weight lost during this phase is from the stomach area. Phase 2 - the Weight Loss: this is where I am and I can honestly say I'm finding it very easy. In this phase you gradually reintroduce fruit, carbs and dairy, but only good ones - ie low on the GI index. Wholemeal bread, brown rice, wholegrain cereal, skimmed milk, low fat cheese etc. You can have a maximum of 3 portions of fruit and 3 portions of carbs a day, but I am still on 1 of each per day because I want maximum weight loss whilst still eating a sensible diet. Throughout the entire diet potatoes, white rice and pasta, sweetcorn, certain fruits and most root veg are off limits completely. Phase 3 - the Maintenance: a relaxed Phase 3 intended to be a lifelong healthy eating plan. It might not suit everyone... and I'm certainly still missing white rice and pasta, but it works better than any other diet I've tried before. Some people genetically have a problem with carbs and I'm definitely one of them. There is no weighing or measuring and it's not complicated once you understand the principles and know the good and bad foods. |
