It's not really the fact that they're women, more that relationships shouldn't be violent. If a woman was to abuse her partner, it's still domestic abuse. It's just that reported cases of domestic violence generally have women as the victim, and that's what most of the campaigns and help is for. And it's true that most men are physically stronger than most women, so it's a case of the stronger preying on the weaker. Though that's also why a lot of men don't feel able to admit that they're being abused, and that leads to a different public perception.
But personally, I wouldn't consider a man beating his wife to be worse than a woman beating her husband. It's still wrong. Just my little ramble
