Ok, I am confused and frustrated by this topic. Could I please get some genuine, non ****erish opinions on the topic. Why is it that we want to be treated as "equals" compared to men, we want to earn as much, have as much rights, be allowed more access in the army etc etc but violence against us is a big no no.. why? If men and women are equal, why is violence against us categorized differently? I personally know alot of girls including myself who are more than capable of beating someone up, or defending ourselves.. Just as most guys can. Yes you occasionaly come across a chick who is really such a ***** she would just get trampled and wouldn't stand up for herself, but hey, there are alot of guys like that too. So i'm curious, which is it, equality? or special consideration? Can't have your cake and eat it too. I personally would never stay with a guy if he hit me.. Not because I am a woman and he is a bloke and it's wrong, but because why would I be with someone if they hit me? If I was a dyke and my missus hit me, i'd leave her too. Why do we expect to get special consideration in certain things, but expect other rights in other situations? It's really quite bull**** if you ask me. So now, my rant is over, please give me your views on the matter.

I was a victim of domestic violence, and i agree fully with what shazza said.
You cant judge individual cases....and no matter how much we want to be treated equally at the end of the day...we are built physically different. Nothing can change that. |

if wimen were the genitically stronger physical *** then violence against men would be treated differently
its not special dispensation for wimen cos they wimen its cos theyre physically weaker and the strong should never take advantage of the weak or else we might as well become animals again |

Why is it so difficult to find chat rooms for women suffering emotional and physical abuse. I have only just found the strength to try and get out of an abusive marriage and I could really use someone to talk to, get advice from and just be a friend. I would like to hear from anyone who has filed under the VAWA
