Exclamation question time 9-6-11 libya

conservative mp andrew mitchell has just been saying on question time BBC that he thinks gaddafi's time is nearly up.
he then went on to give 3 reasons:
1.we are degrading his weapons severely, from the air.
2.more and more defections from top to bottom.
& 3. the ICC (International crime court) has shown that he'll be caught in the end (referring to Ratko Mladic arrest).

his 3rd point seems a bit off to me.
i know gadaffi has offered at least one peace treaty (as reported by the BBC) which NATO rejected.
and now the threat of the ICC looms for him.
so it seems to me he has 2 choices:
1.let the opposition/rebels have what they want and get swiftly swept off to the international crime court.
or
2.dig in and fight to the death.

what other realistic choices does he have?
he's ****ed.
i think he'll pick 2...thats what i'd probably do.

so why dont we just go the full hog and make it a war?
its seems stupid that we wont leave untill hes dead or captured, but not by us! we gotta let the crappy rebels do it for themselves!
no politician wants to start another war is why. this is just a humanitarian emergency intervention or some ****.

i just wish our politicians would be straight with us is the point im getting at.

Well Serbia has a worse standard of living than Libya. Shouldn't Europe sort out its own continent first?

Lightbulb

the ICC has made it official.
gaddafi and 2 other guys are now wanted men for realsies! lol

are we prolonging this humanitarian crisis? have international regulations (pretty much self imposed) restricted our actions so much that we cannot effectively & swiftly end the war/crisis ourselves?
YES

so what should we of done? or do in similar future cases?

play the ICC card straight away, before any outside military intervention.

cos libya seems like a massive gray blurry shoot now ask questions later. or did we ask then shoot then ask again?

what do you think?

why don't you's just go in, shoot lots of people that are causing an inconvenience, send a few soldiers over, wait a few years and leave the country a more violent place than when you's found it. And in case people in Britain are feeling a little bit guilty, they could have a little enquiry and tell us all how the majority of Britain was against it to make you feel better.
