Question: Interesting people

Hello. I have a question I hope you can answer me...

Well the people who used to go in the internet before this new "troll trend" know that you could meet really interesting people on the internet.

It is cool being a "troll" and such but in the proper spaces. Spaces where idiotic people use to go... I happen to be an otaku, so I know that there are a lot of idiots in some kind of forums. They just vary a bit the language but the rest is the same...

A few years back then... I could go to a forum and find some really cool people... If I wanted to know cool pokemon fans sure I could go a fan forum... In those days people had the decency of being good at discussing things... These days well, if I write more than 3 lines they just **** up in the thing and say "tl;dr"... It seems the world is up to turn the internet a big 4chan... You know what I mean...

Well there was a time when I had more than 160 contacts on my m-s-n and those contacts used to wave in those windows like maniacs... To today I have more or less 100 contacts (not the same ones mostly). 3.30 am I have 8 contacts online, I know 4 who will answer me and 3 that are interesting...

I'm interested in a variation of themes actually, I like to have otaku ones, those interested on japanese culture (not necessarily otakus ofc), sportsmen, musicians, music junkies, film junkies, computer geeks and random people around the world. I used also to have people whom I could discuss and were willing to discuss some subject... Today I have one of those people on my messenger and I have to beg him to come him to discuss from time to time...

Well it is not lack of trying I've been hanging around some of the darkest places on the internet. On omegle I stood there one year, I found exactly one person to befriend. The rest were just trolls, seriously... I had the most weird chats of my life on that site... And that was not even the objective of omegle, their moto was "meet random strangers" and not "please enter and see the freaks of the internet and losers in life looking for "sausage" and "taco".

Then I thought ok that is cool, it is a random chat it is normal to find jerks... And so, I moved on to a place called "okcupid" I had registered there in 2009 at that time didn't suit my interest. It was a relationship site. And then I got really really fancy... Most of the profiles were kind of lame I must say.... I found some interesting. In the first day I happened to find this really cute and funny Spanish girl... Oh what a twist because she was more twisted than me... In the end she blocked on skype, never more answered my calls and she changed a lot too... Her profile to this day is less about being funny and more being a "date whore" who defines herself as a polyamorous and happens to be bis***ual. (Note: She turned bi***ual just before meeting me). And then I found a trans***ual Moroccan, I tried to keep an open mind. But that person had a lot of issues actually... In the end I found an otaku Portuguese-American and I was trilled... She had a site and all. I happen to be Portuguese. So I sent her a message in okcupid... She never answered (she had this filter with a 50km radius). One month later an email first in English, then in Portuguese... Then I sent a message on her fb (it was published on her site that was published on okcupid). Not only she never answered, a few days after she update her profile like that was nothing... At this point I decided to give up...

So forums, chats, sites it seems all fails to me...

Sorry if this post is kind of long, but I wanted to know where to find interesting people these days... Google doesn't seem to help me at all!
