URL's & Links
Can anybody tell me why links and URL's are deleted from posts. I can understand why spam is deleted but if a link is relevant to the thread/topic why would it be deleted? Is there some legal reason as most forums allow this as it is relevant.

because links can contain viruses or u get ppl promoting their new wonder slimming pill blah blah blah ...think about it .....

I understand why the spam is deleted, that's called moderating the forum. Any links posted by the regular users are not going to be from dodgy locations and therefore highly unlikely to contain a virus and everyone who uses the internet with an ounce of intelligence will have one or several anti virus software packages running on their pc. So i still don't get why links from regular users that are on topic and relevant are deleted? Sorry to sound a bit argumentative. Last edited by Forger; 12-08-11 at 02:41 PM.

because if ppl were posting addys willy nilly no matter how relevant to a post or whether a reg or not then other ppl wuld come in think its ok and start promoting other sites etc.....and then where do you stop....... the only sites promoted are woc based ones .....some regs do become banned and think its ok to try and hack, spam or promote other sites so no links allowed wshatsoever or where wuld u stop... for more clarification i wuld email woc if i were u
