Unhappy skiving

ive had a filthy cold all weekend but i can actually breathe normally today and my head doesnt feel like its going to explode anymore....but ive still taken the day off

1st sicky ive pulled all year!

a few years ago i actually used to mark off on my calendar when i had a sicky and from that would work out how long i could reasonably wait untill my next one!
thursdays and fridays combined were my favourites. (especially after a wednesday night champions league match) with the occasional monday thrown in.

do you skive?
did you skive more often when you was younger?
do you think you skived off more on certain days of the week?

im so bored....shoulda just went to work..........phoning them up to say im sick is the worst bit!
i wanna have a lie in....dont wanna get up and prepare my "im feelin rough" speech.
but after last time when i didnt phone up and they phoned me they were pretty angry cos they thought i probably had come off my motorbike cos im never off work sick.

2 times in 3 years now!

I think everyone should have a stint of working freelance - i.e. you don't get paid until your project is completed. There is nothing like the prospect of receiving payment to keep you on the ball. I had an university lecturer who said the only excuse for not turning up to his lectures was if there was a death in the family, and that death had to be yours. Harsh, but it did instil a sense of indivual responsiblity. Then again, if you really are sick then you shouldn't feel pressurised into going to work. Hangovers aren't illnesses! All I can say to hangover sufferers is "suck it up snowflake!" and get on with it.
