Default To clip or not to clip? That is the question

Some of you will know that I have a new kitten called Ollie, aka the Spawn of the Devil. As he grows, his play fighting is getting quite painful with his sharp little claws and neither my limbs or stockings can take much more punishment! Ollie does have a scratching post, but seems to prefer my legs and fingers and even my scalp when he wants feeding in the morning. I want to clip his claws but some people I have spoken to say that I shouldn't. Any suggestions?

Noooooooooooooooooooooo cats need their claws to climb and for many other things

Your wee kitten will grow out of the playfighting eventually. As long as your furniture aint getting it then I wouldnt worry !!!

I dont think vets over here would declaw a cat anyhow if they do then shame on them !!

Thanks for the advice. I was thinking more of a kittycat manicure so he could keep his claws but they would just be a bit less GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! I guess I will just have to cope with claw attacks at 6 am, 8am and then from 7pm onwards for the time being. The booties suggestion (Pete) was most helpful, lol. Do you know of any designer that does S&M for cats? lol
