Default Who Do You Want As England Manager?

Well, its that time again when we blame the manager for our complete lack of commitment, passion, tactical awareness and basic footballing skill and put our faith and cash into someone else.
We've had the passionate manager in Kevin Keegan, the soft line in Sven and now the strict disciplinarian in Capello and none of it has worked. Our players just aren't good enough! But, with Capello seemingly getting the boot, who do you want as the next silly sod to get grey hair? Personally, god help us if Beckham gets the job. You're telling me he's more tactically aware than Rednapp, Hodgson or even Capello?? For me, Rednapp has the passion and the record to take over but, in my opinion, it doesn't matter who the manager is, though Capello did seem to panic with team selection before we went out there.........

How about getting rid of a manager and just let the players pick the team. In cricket it's the captain who decides the tactics on the field but yeah, you're right highlander, you need some good players first.

Thumbs up How about

Jimmy Calderwood

He's got experience managing in Holland

European Experience with both Dunfermline and Aberdeen

I think he's just about perfect for England.

Well nyg, the manager is staying which might be good for stability, but which players will he be working with? I don't see much English talent coming through, but maybe I am wrong?

i'm glad he's staying on, with international managers you're only as good as the players you have. I think we have the players but i believe its our mentality. You never see the other best times panic when they go behind like we do or seem intelligent enough to adapt to change when things aren't working. As for the youngsters, we have them but i'm of the opinion that what natural skills they have are coached out of them once the FA get hold of them.
