So many to choose from - I have a favourite in most genres, but overall I would go with The Lord of The Rings trilogy (yeah, I know that's 3, not 1, but deal with it lol)

Got to be "The Shawshank Redemtion" wonderful film brilliant actors and acting, never got nominated for any Oscar.

Saving Private Ryan - just for the fact my gf at the time was an emotional wreck in the cinema, i was dump-struck at the realism and my house-mate driving his car into the back of another one in the car park on the way out cuz he his head was still taking in what he had seen
