Smile hello

District 9 was interesting pretty good technology and special effects but a bit bland. I was pretty impressed by Shutter Island and Inception. I think DiCaprio is on top from at the moment.

Talking

took the kids to see Toy Story 3- we watched it in 3;D.
The film is great- best one of the three- but not sure seeing it in 3;D made much difference !

Default hello

I wasn't too impressed with 3D either. I tend to see them in 2D instead. I saw a good 3D film in Germany once however and it blew me away. A proper 3D film is shot with two cameras i think giving a sense of perspective. This wasn't really present in films like Avatar and some others. I think studios tend to shoot in 2D and then make it 3D later with computers which isn't too impressive. Yeh the old Predator film is excellent "i'll bleed you m*th*rf*ck*r...real quiet" great jungle action.

Saw Inception the other night. The scarey thing was that I actually understood it! Long film and you just have to go with the flow. Well acted with a bit of humour as well.

As for 3D, saw Alice in Wonderland at the IMAX which was ok but made me feel a little bit icky until I got use to the size of the screen and the 3D effects. The best 3D film I saw was A Christmas Carol (animation). It really did feel like it was snowing on you as you sat there in the cinema
