what do you think about the NHS?

when i 1st found out not every country has a hospital system like britains i was shocked! and felt glad to be english.
now ive heard from various campaign groups (38 degrees!!!!!!) that these reforms will set us on the road towards privatization.
something im dead against!
my local MP jim paice wrote back to me and said that the government was absolutely NOT planning to privatize the NHS.
but he's a conservative and i dont really believe him! lol

im keeping the letter so i can show it to him if they do end up privatizing it, and call him a twat.

do you feel privileged to have the NHS?

In Canada we have basically the same system. I like it and i don't think it would go down well in Canada if anyone wanted to change it. In fact, they'd probably lose an election if they admitted they wanted to change it

People do complain about waiting times a lot though. Ive never really had to use hospital so i can comment much on that

But Canada has a higher life expectancy, lower infant mortality, more nurses per people and more doctors per people than UK so ha :P

but being serious, an NHS is pretty cool America's system sucks
