Second Life – Get a life ?

I was watching the TV recently and saw a program about the 3d online game called second life. I was pretty shocked by what I saw and pretty saddened.
Second life is a 3d online world, unfortunately like the real world people are doing everything in their power to take advantage of this world and try to make money out it, by doing some of the following.
Did you know there are virtual land lords on Second life?
Did you know there are people who design furniture and sell it on second life?
Did you know people pay monthly for a virtual apartment or a virtual island or virtual land?
Well all of the above are true, people have designed areas with flats and sold them virtually for their currency linden dollars. To get linden dollars you either have to purchase them with your real money (I don’t think so lol) or get a job and work for them!
Did you know you can get paid to sunbathe on second life?
Did you know you can get paid to dance on second life?
Did you know you can work as an escort on second life?
Unfortunately all of the above are true lol, the world has gone mad, Im sure there are even more examples of jobs and ways people are trying to exploit people online. I’m sure second life is a scammer’s heaven.
It was said these 3 d rooms will take over and the old text chat rooms will close. I don’t think this will happen, I fail to see why people would play in a 3d online world, when there is a big 3d world right outside their window.
