Chat rooms can be a nasty place to be somtimes, but you will find that world of chat isnt like most other chat rooms, in fact its a fun place to be.

There is always lots of ribbing or piss taking as we call it in woc, so you need to make sure you bring your sense of humour and dont take things personally.

If you find yourself taking things personally, then you need to leave the room and calm down dont start a massive argument over somthing that could be nothing. It will get you banned, this has happened on previous occations when somone has been insulted, the person has insulted the person back, this makes you both as bad as each other and will result in you both being banned.

You can mention your greivance when you are next in the room, or email me if somthing has upset you and i will sort it out.

Hi guys

Some of you have now figured out how to use your forum signitures, if you login to the forums and click on user cp (top left) and then goto your signiture option down the left hand side, you can fill out your forum signiture, every time you post what ever you have wrote in your signiture will be posted as well.

If some of you are registered with other forums, you might want to add the world of chat url to your signiture on there, to give us a link back to our chat.

Anywhere the world of chat link can be seen will help World of Chat.

Hi guys

Spywear has always been a problem when using chat rooms, as some of you may know world of chat has no spywear what so ever, it does save a few cookies (which is why it remembers your username and password when you start the chat).

So if you use world of chat then you are safe from spywear, if your spywear picks up anything from world of chat that is spywear, then your spywear remover isnt up to the task !

I am just trying out a new spywear product, as spybot doesnt seem to like me too much, called spywearblaster, this product stops spywear getting onto your pc in the first place.

So you might want to download it and give it a try !

Hi there

I spend a lot of my time answering querys about chat rooms on another forum, a lot of these people seem to be people who spend an awful lot of time in yahoo chat and when they are not in yahoo chat, they are moaning that they cannot get in yahoo chat, as yahoo chat is so unreliable these days.

Well im sorry to say it, but yahoo chat has had its day now, while it still commands lots of visitors, as a chat room its had its day and needs to change, the people need to change with it.

If the people who moaned about yahoo all went somwhere else and stopped using yahoo, then yahoo would change the chat room over night, by going into the room you are saying the chat rooms are fine.

Vote with your feet and things will soon change !

Hi guys

I have to confess with being a bit pissed off tonight, as I must have counted 10 people logging into the main room and logging straight out within the space of an hour.

Us 3 admins do an awful lot behind the scenes to keep this room open.

There are some people that really put some effort into keeping this room going, for example the people who post regularly on the forums, but some people just do not contribute at all.

In fact some people just sit in the room moaing its quiet, most of those people have done absolutly nothing to help the situation ! If its quiet do somthing to help, its the only way its going to get better.

Some people even resorting to what I would call stalking, looking in the room to see if a certain person is in the room then leaving, after i did an article recently about cyber stalking some of you people should read it.

It wouldnt be so bad if one of those people wasnt one I had warned earlier in the week, seems my words dont mean anything, well if it continues I will do somthing about it !

Hi there

In an attempt to get more people in the chat room I thought i would register with myspace and have a go with it, I have to confess its bloody hard lol.

I think I am giving in with it, as it wont even let me post a link to our chat room on there anyway, I really dont see the attraction at all, maybe I am missing somthing lol.

I personally think www.wocchat.com site is a little better and a little easier to use as well, once you know how.

With the coming of the electronic age and with more people getting onto the internet every day, so have the occurrences of cyber stalking.

Cyber stalking is the use of electronic means to stalk someone, stalking is usually harassing, intimidating or threatening behavior, in the real world its usually someone being followed or might be someone watching your house, constant phone calls or leaving messages on their answer phone.

Well most of these can be translated into online behavior, as people can be harassed in chat rooms or by email or via social networking sites such as myspace etc.

Cyber stalkers usually target people on chat rooms, bulletin boards or via social networking sites such as myspace etc, these kind of people are not easy to spot, so all the more reason to be careful who you talk to and give personal information out to on the net.

Victims of cyber stalking will in most cases not even realize they are being targeted, it’s usual for the stalker to become more intense and start sending repeated emails or instant messages, even emails with virus on.

It’s not unusual for cyber stalkers to post doctored defamatory pictures, or post defamatory information about their victims; these are designed to trigger a response from the victim.

Once they have got a reaction from someone, then it’s not unusual for this person to try to track their victim down, by trying to find their IP address or place or work or even where they live.

Cyber stalking can be a terrifying experience, as the victim has no idea why this is happening and has no relationship with the person doing the stalking. It can have psychological implications.

Cyber stalking Law Enforcement

The good news is that the police and other authorities are catching up fast on these offences, there is now a law in place in the UK, and under the Malicious Communications Act (1998) cyber stalking is now classed as a criminal offence.

Also some assistance can be found with your ISP or the website that the offence might have been committed.

Hi there

I was browsing the net recently and found several articles about chat room fraud, so I thought i would have my say on the matter lol.

Chat room fraud was prevalent when msn chat was around, as chat rooms were at their peak then, chat room fraud tends to work in several ways, a few are subtle some not so subtle.

Here are a list of some of the popular chat room frauds that im sure still happen online, btw most of these frauds will seemingly be commited by female chatters, but you will probably find in most cases that the female who is chatting, is fake and also a male pretending to be female !

1) Chatter talks to chatter, who mentions that they will call you, but hasnt got any credit on their phone, if you purchase me some credit I will call you

Of course as soon as you buy some credit this person will disapear.

2) Chatter talks to chatter, who mentions they are stuck in a country and need help getting out of their country, please can you send me the money to get away

Of course chatter disapears when the money is sent

3) Chatter talks to chatter, for long periods of time, somtimes for over 6 months feeds the chatter a load of lies and works on the person, in the hope they can get the chatter to give them money. Even making out they will meet the person or even in some cases marry.

This is just a long con, in the hope on working on somone and convincing them the person is genuine.

There are lots of other cons, im sure you have all had the emails saying you have won the bulgarian lottery, which is amazing as you havent even entered it lol. Some so calis I dont even want to mention them.

Im sure you have all had the bank emails or building society, trying to get your personal details or your bank account details, banks never send out emails so just delete any emails like this.

The lesson is simple, if anyone asks you for money via a chat room then dont send any, under any circumstances !
