Yahoo Chat Verification
Hi Guys
First of all I had to upgrade my Yahoo Messenger to Yahoo messenger 8 to get the chat rooms to work, so if your having problems i would suggest you upgrade to version 8.1
Cant See Any Chat ?
If you are receiving pms and not seeing any chat in the main room, goto preferences and goto the ignore list, make sure you havent got the dot in ignore anyone who is not on my messenger list.
After many many hours of hard work yahoo have tryed to get rid of the bots on their chat room by introducing a new verification system, as you can see below when you enter the chat room, you are given a url to click.
Once you have done this, you will be presented with the 2nd screen, asking you to put a code into the box and click submit, you will then be able to chat, unfortunatly you need to do this every time you enter the rooms or switch rooms.
Will This Work ?
In short NO, it seems Yahoo have no idea how the bots actually work, how can you possibly tackle a problem when you dont know how bots operate, I dont see how its going to stop bots in the slightest, when the user puts a bot into a room hes actually sat there at the pc, so when a bot maker puts the bot in the room, it will just ask him to verify in the same way it does other chatters, he will just enter the code and the bots in the room !
Problems With the New Verification
If you are having problems with the verification then upgrade your yahoo messenger
Getting a Blank Page When You Click The Verification link
Make sure you have the new yahoo messenger first of all, if it still gives you a blank page, you need to copy and paste the url into a new browser window, you can do this by doing the following.
1) Highlight the link on the chat room, that is asking you to click on it.
2) Press CTRL C
3) Open your internet explorer.
4) Click into the address bar and press CTRL V and press enter or click on Go
Follow the rest of the verification process
I am in the rooms now and have been spammed numerous times and it also still has bots !

I followed your reccomendations and I still can’t see the the captcha characters. The box is empty and I can’t type in what I can’t see. I have been everywhere with this question and no one seems to be able to help me. Can anyone steer me in the right direction?
Very strange, i would suggest copying the url that appears in the yahoo chat room, and paste this url into a firefox window, see if using a different browser gives yout the same error, annoying i know if you havent got firefox, but it should work !
